SOLIDWORKS & start-ups: The Ocean Cleanup
A good example of a start-up that has become successful with the help of the SOLIDWORKS entrepreneur program is The Ocean Cleanup. This start-up, founded by Boyan Slat, has the ambition to free all oceans from plastic.
When SOLIDWORKS employee Jeroen Buring saw this project, he did not know how quickly he had to put Boyan Slat in touch with the right people in his network. Moreover, he was able to provide SOLIDWORKS licenses, online training, and support through the entrepreneur program The Ocean Cleanup.
The Ocean Cleanup system has now been fully developed and Boyan Slat has been able to make his dream come true: the system today contributes to a large-scale cleaning up of the oceans.

When are you eligible for a SOLIDWORKS entrepreneurs license?
There are a number of rules associated with the program for entrepreneurs. You are eligible for the SOLIDWORKS license and the additional support if your start-up has the following characteristics:
You sell your own physical product.
- Chamber of Commerce number may not be older than 3 years.
The turnover of your start-up does not exceed 1 million euros.
Your start-up does not receive more than 1 million euros in funding.
